Title: Motel Supervisor — Back of House
Department: Hitching Post Motel
Status: Part-time
Pay Grid: Supervisor
Schedule: as determined by the manager; available to work evenings and weekends
Reporting to: Motel Operations Manager
Summary of Duties:
Under the direction of the Motel Operations Manager, the Motel Supervisor — Back of House acts as the bridge between management and front-line staff. Responsibilities include ensuring schedules, communications, and operational expectations are clear; supporting onboarding and training; maintaining morale and productivity; and keeping daily operations on plan. This role may be assigned from time to time to fulfill the duties of the Front Desk & Housekeeping Associate.
Key Deliverables and Expectations:
Staff Support & Communication:
- Serve as primary contact for staff; relay updates and policies; provide coaching.
- Communicate policies and expectations clearly; encourage teamwork and resolve minor conflicts.
Scheduling & Administration:
- Prepare weekly schedules; track attendance; monitor inventory levels; maintain accurate records.
Operational Coordination:
- Supervise daily task completion; assist during peak periods; maintain shift reports.
Onboarding & Training:
- Support new-hire onboarding; identify skill gaps; assist with training to maintain service standards.
Compliance & Safety:
- Promote health, safety, sanitation, and privacy practices; report hazards promptly.
Experience and Attributes:
- Hospitality experience required; multi-department coordination preferred.
- Strong communication skills; fair and supportive approach; problem-solver.
- Basic administrative skills; PMS familiarity.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- BC Driver’s License preferred.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
