The Role

We're hiring a Fire Alarm Lead: our most senior fire alarm technician and the person the rest of the department looks to on the tough calls. This is a hands-on role first. You'll still be in the field doing the complex inspections, troubleshooting, and installs that nobody else can. But you'll also help shape where the department goes, and help build the team that gets us there.

It's a player-coach role. Most of your week is on the tools at various job sites. The rest is spent making everyone around you better: training techs, sitting in on hiring, setting the technical standard, and working with us on how the department grows as the company does.

What You'll Do

• Handle the toughest technical work: complex inspections, verifications, troubleshooting, and installs across addressable and conventional systems, including annual, semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly inspections of fire alarms, smoke control, and elevator fire controls.
• Be the escalation point for the team, resolving the ground faults, open circuits, relay and auxiliary issues, and one-off problems that stump everyone else.
• Install, wire, and program new fire alarm panels and devices.
• Train and mentor intermediate and junior technicians, setting the technical standard and levelling up the whole team.
• Take part in hiring: interview and evaluate new technical talent as the department grows.
• Own quality: review inspection reports and deficiency resolutions for accuracy and code compliance (CAN/ULC-S536 and S537).
• Help shape the department's growth and direction, partnering with ownership on process, capacity, and where we go next.
• Communicate clearly with customers, explaining the work plainly and making sure they leave the interaction confident in the service.
• Take part in after-hours on-call rotations, responding promptly and handling critical issues independently.

What We're Looking For

• CFAA certification (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) with a minimum of 6 years of experience. You've seen it all and you're the person others come to.
• Deep expertise in fire alarm systems: troubleshooting, testing, wiring, programming, and installation on both addressable and conventional systems.
• Working knowledge of CAN/ULC-S536 and S537 and relevant fire and electrical codes.
• Leadership instinct: experience mentoring or leading other techs, formally or informally, and a genuine interest in building a team.
• Ability to complete, review, and sign off on accurate, detailed inspection reports.
• Comfortable with iPads and mobile/digital reporting tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid Class G driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Residency in the GTA is preferred.

Pay

• $90,000 per year, salaried
