Company Overview

Workhorse Labour Inc and partners are leaders in the construction management, labour services and material supply industry, dedicated to providing reliable general and skilled labour to construction sites, . Our mission is to support the building industry with skilled professionals committed to safety and excellence.

About the Role

Are you an accounting powerhouse who thrives in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a highly skilled and adaptable Senior Accountant to take ownership of the financial health of three distinct but aligned business units.

If you love variety, possess an eagle-eye for detail, and know your way around multiple accounting platforms, you are exactly who we are looking for. You won't just be pushing paper; you will be the financial anchor for a labour supply company, a global materials supplier, and a construction management firm.

Core Responsibilities (Across All Three Companies)

Regardless of the business unit, you will be the master of our foundational accounting functions. Your overarching duties for all three entities will include:

  • Full-Cycle Payroll: Ensuring our teams are paid accurately and on time.
  • Government Remittances & Compliance: Managing and paying all Source Deductions and HST accurately.
  • WSIB: Handling all Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) reporting and payments.
  • Reconciliations: Performing accurate, timely bank reconciliations across all corporate accounts.
  • Month-End & Year-End: Preparing financials, working papers, and liaising with external auditors/tax accountants as needed.

Entity-Specific Responsibilities

1. Labour Supply

  • Manage timesheet integration and data flow using QuickBooks and QuickBooks Time.
  • Process complex billing, managing both flat-rate contract invoicing and variable timesheet-based invoicing.

2. Materials Supply & Installation

  • Manage a global purchasing pipeline and multi-currency accounts (CAD and USD).
  • Oversee inventory management and accounting using QuickBooks.
  • Handle Accounts Payable for international vendors, ensuring exchange rates and landed costs are tracked accurately.

3. Construction Management

  • Navigate and manage project-based accounting using Spectrum Accounting Software and Trimble Construction Management software.
  • Track project costs, progress billing, and construction-specific financial reporting.

Qualifications & What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment.
  • Software Mastery: Deep expertise in QuickBooks (including QB Time and Inventory). Experience with Trimble/Spectrum is a massive asset.
  • Multi-Currency Pro: Comfort and experience handling CAD/USD bank accounts and international purchasing.
  • Compliance Guru: Strong working knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations, HST, and WSIB reporting in Ontario.
  • The "Rockstar" Factor: You are highly organized, capable of switching gears seamlessly between different company needs, and you treat every dollar like it’s your own. You communicate clearly and can explain financial concepts to non-financial managers.

What We Offer

  • Salary: Competitive base salary of $75,000 – $95,000.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive standard benefits package (health, dental, and vision coverages).
  • Time Off: A flexible, negotiable vacation allotment tailored to your lifestyle and experience.
  • Environment: A dynamic workplace with plenty of variety and direct impact on business growth.

To Apply: Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter telling us why you are the accounting rockstar we need for this multi-entity challenge!

Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Dental care
  • On-site parking

Licence/Certification:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (required)
