Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks over long distances to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage logistics across various routes. This position offers an opportunity to work with a professional team dedicated to timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of service.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Transport freight across regional or national destinations, ensuring timely deliveries
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking for mechanical issues or safety concerns
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and documentation in compliance with company policies
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered during transit
  • Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts for loading/unloading freight when required

Skills

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Experience in freight transportation and long-haul driving preferred
  • Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling
  • Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards in trucking operations
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently over extended periods
  • Excellent communication skills for coordination with dispatchers and clients
