Position Title: Plant Manager (Seafood)
Location: Vancouver C2C (Richmond B.C. V6V 3C8)
Starting Minimum: $50,000/year
Job Type: Full Time Permanent

Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager or designate, the Plant Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the seafood processing facility. This role oversees all aspects of production, food safety, quality assurance, equipment maintenance, workforce management, and operational performance to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The Plant Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives while fostering a positive, accountable, and safety-focused workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations & Production
  • Lead daily plant operations to meet production, quality, safety, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, yields, labour efficiency, downtime, waste, and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Shipping, and Administration to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and profitability.
  • Inventory Management
  • Manage labour costs, operating expenses, and departmental budgets.
  • Optimize raw material utilization, reduce waste, and enhance product recovery.
  • Support effective inventory control and operational cost management.
  • Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production staff.
  • Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing workforce.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused workplace culture.
  • Manage performance, employee relations, and succession planning.
  • Work alongside HACCP manager to ensure food safety, sanitation, quality assurance, and product traceability programs.
  • Oversee facility maintenance team
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5–10 years of progressive management experience in seafood processing, food manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of seafood processing operations would be considered an asset.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP or inventory management systems.
