Job Title: Research Scientist, DMPK (Regular, full-time)
Job Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary: $65,000-$90,000/year, salary commensurate with experience

Frontage is a global Contract Research Company (CRO) with the head office located in Exton, Pennsylvania, USA. Frontage has 25 sites across USA, Canada, China and Italy. The Canadian operations include two sites – one located in Vancouver and the other based in Toronto. Frontage Vancouver (formerly BRI) has been in operation for more than 25 years with service offerings in regulated and non-regulated bioanalytical (various platforms including LC/MS/MS and MSD for small and large molecules analyses), In-vitro / In-vivo Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics and pharmacology. The Frontage Vancouver operation is projected to grow significantly in the next few years, especially to meet the demands of biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the Pacific Northwest region. Our facility is accredited by AAALAC and conforms to GLP standards.

This position requires teamwork and excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong understanding in DMPK and applied techniques.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Requires a B.Sc or M.Sc. in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry or other science related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience for B.Sc (or 3 years for M.Sc) in pharmaceutical, biotech or similar industry, directly related to working on DMPK studies.
  • Demonstrated experience in contemporary HPLC and LC-MS/MS operation, method development and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with developing and optimizing relevant DMPK assays.
  • Hands-on technical experience with tissue culture, automated liquid handlers, and MSD platform preferred.
  • Prior experience with radioisotope handling (e.g. 3H, 14C) is an asset.
  • Competence in experimental in vitro and in vivo study design supporting ADME/DMPK/Tox preclinical and clinical studies
  • Hands-on experience with preparing formulations.
  • Strong planning and organization abilities.
  • Competent and self-motivated individual with the ability to work collaboratively and independently under moderate supervision in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computers skills, and competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, Graphpad Prism, and WinNonlin.
  • Good analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects

Job Responsibilities
:
  • Report to senior team leader
  • Plan and execute in vitro and in vivo metabolism/bioanalysis assays in a team-oriented environment
  • Perform data analysis and interpretation using different software programs (such as Sciex Analyst, Sciex OS, MassLynx, GraphPad prism, LIMS, MS Excel, etc.) and prepare study summaries
  • Participate in assay/method development, troubleshooting, and provide scientific input
  • Coordinate with study team members to execute studies and lead studies when required
  • Communicate and work closely with department leads to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Prepare study protocols and study reports
  • Liaison /communicate results proficiently with study sponsors
  • Provide drug discovery screening and IND filling support for Sponsor-based projects
  • Ensure that all applicable regulations, guidelines and BRI standard operating procedures are followed
  • Responsible and reliable record keeping, organization and assisting in lab management as needed.
  • Ensure that all study related documentation is completed and archived as required.
  • Contribute to basic lab maintenance such as equipment maintenance / cleaning, supply ordering, stocking, and follow-up
  • Follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
