OSP Microcheck is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to support the registration, compliance, and stewardship of our product portfolio across North America. This role will be responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance for products regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), preparing and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS), supporting customer and commercial teams on regulatory inquiries, and monitoring evolving regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate combines strong regulatory knowledge with practical experience supporting commercial products in a manufacturing, chemical, biocide, pesticide, or specialty chemicals environment.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  • Support registration, amendment, renewal, and maintenance activities for EPA and PMRA regulated products.
  • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory documentation to support product registrations and compliance activities.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess impacts on existing products and future commercialization opportunities.
  • Maintain regulatory records and documentation in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Coordinate with external regulatory consultants, laboratories, and government agencies as required.

SDS Management & Product Stewardship

  • Author, review, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels in compliance with:
  • GHS requirements
  • OSHA Hazard Communication Standard
  • WHMIS
  • Ensure SDS and labeling remain current with evolving regulations and product formulations.
  • Support hazard classifications and regulatory assessments for new and existing products.
  • Maintain regulatory databases and product compliance records.

Client & Commercial Support

  • Respond to client regulatory inquiries, including requests related to:
  • SDS and Labels
  • Product registrations
  • Compliance documentation
  • Regulatory licenses
  • Support sales, technical service, and marketing teams with regulatory guidance.
  • Suppport regulatory compliance audits and reviews as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Development, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure regulatory requirements are incorporated into product development and commercialization activities.
  • Support change management processes for product formulations, suppliers, and manufacturing sites.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of regulatory and product stewardship processes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3+ years of regulatory affairs experience in chemical, pesticide, biocide, antimicrobial, or related industries.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Working knowledge of:
  • WHMIS
  • GHS
  • OSHA Hazard Communication requirements
  • Strong technical writing and document management skills.
  • This position will require some travel to client sites, field locations, and industry conferences for operational support, and speaking engagements. Ability to travel freely between Canada and USA is a requirement.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with antimicrobial, disinfectant, preservative, or industrial biocide products.
  • Familiarity with FIFRA and PMRA pesticide registartions, antimicrobials, biocides, disinfectants, preservatives, or pesticides.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations (TDG, DOT, IATA, IMDG).
  • Ability to operate independently with limited regulatory infrastructure.
