Educational Assistant (Part-Time or Full-Time)

Dunblaine School – Toronto, ON

The Dunblaine School is a small, independent school in midtown Toronto dedicated to supporting students with learning differences. Our students are bright, capable learners who benefit from individualized instruction, small class sizes, and a compassionate, strengths-based approach.

We are seeking a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Educational Assistant (EA) to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.

About the Role

Working closely with teachers and other professionals, the Educational Assistant will provide academic, behavioural, social, and organizational support to students in Grades 1–8 with diverse learning profiles, including:

* Learning Disabilities (LD)

* Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

* Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1)

* Executive functioning challenges

* Anxiety

* Language-based learning differences

The ideal candidate is flexible, proactive, and passionate about helping students build confidence and independence.

Responsibilities

* Support students in the classroom and during small-group or one-to-one instruction.

* Assist with implementing individualized learning strategies and accommodations.

* Help students develop executive functioning, organization, self-regulation, and social skills.

* Collaborate with teachers, families, and outside professionals to support student success.

* Reinforce positive behaviour using respectful, strengths-based approaches.

* Support students during transitions, recess, community outings, and school activities.

* Assist with classroom organization and preparation of learning materials.

Qualifications

* Educational Assistant diploma or equivalent education and experience.

* Experience supporting children with learning disabilities, ADHD, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.

* Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for supporting neurodiverse learners.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills.

* Patient, dependable, and able to build positive relationships with students.

* Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).

* Current First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is an asset:

* Executive functioning supports

* Self-regulation strategies

* Behaviour support

* Assistive technology

* Working alongside multidisciplinary teams
