Full job description

At Alberta Therapy Co., we believe meaningful change happens when children, families, and professionals work together. We are looking for a Behavioural Consultant who shares our neuroaffirming values and is passionate about supporting children in ways that honour who they are while building practical skills for everyday life.

About the Role

As a Behavioural Consultant, you'll partner with children, families, and our multidisciplinary team to understand behaviour through a neuroaffirming lens. Together, you'll develop individualized supports that promote emotional regulation, participation, confidence building, and positive relationships across home, school, and community environments.

This position includes a combination of:

  • In-home services
  • Community and school consultation
  • Clinic-based appointments
  • Collaboration with Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy Assistants

Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized plans that prioritize quality of life, participation, and family goals.
  • Coach caregivers using practical, relationship-based strategies that fit naturally into daily routines.
  • Collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, collaborative care.
  • Support schools and community partners through consultation and collaborative planning.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with children and families grounded in trust, respect, and compassion.

Skills

  • Has experience supporting children with diverse developmental, behavioural, communication, and emotional needs.
  • Practices from a neuroaffirming, strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective.
  • Values collaboration and enjoys learning alongside other professionals.
  • Is flexible, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with families and community partners.
  • Brings warmth and creativity to their work.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience providing behavioural consultation with children and families.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation for community & home visits.
  • Current criminal record and vulnerable sector check.

Job Types: Part-time (Contractor or Employee options available). This position can grow into a full time position.
