St. Jude’s Academy is a private, IB World School located in Mississauga, Ontario, serving over 800 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. We are committed to fostering a nurturing environment that supports both academic excellence and student well-being. As part of this commitment, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Cafeteria Cook to help provide kid-friendly meals that fuel learning and development.

Position Overview

The Assistant Cafeteria Cook supports the Lead Cook in the preparation and service of daily meals, ensuring students receive fresh, nutritious, and timely food. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast for approximately 15–20 students each morning
  • Assist the Lead Cook with all aspects of lunch preparation and service
  • Package, deliver, and serve lunches to high school students
  • Support food preparation, including washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, equipment, and food preparation areas
  • Follow all public health and food safety regulations
  • Assist with inventory organization and restocking supplies as needed
  • Clean and prepare the kitchen for the next day’s operations

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
  • Valid Food Handler Certification (required)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions and take initiative when needed
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hiring)

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, approximately 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (subject to slight variations based on school schedule)
