Job Overview

This is a contractual position filling in for a Maternity leave. We are seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our clinic. The ideal candidate will provide support in a fast-paced medical clinic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages effectively
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records using Accuro
  • Verify patient insurance information and process billing or payments as needed
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and rescheduling to optimize provider availability
  • Support clinical staff by preparing patient charts and documentation prior to appointments
  • Oversees the readiness of examination rooms, maintains medical supply inventory, and enforces infection prevention and control procedures to ensure a safe environment
  • Patient Preparation: Prepares patients thoroughly for examinations by measuring and recording height, weight, and vital signs, as well as conducting diagnostic tests (e.g., pregnancy tests, urinalyses, ECGs)
  • provides skilled support to physicians during minor medical procedures
  • collects, labels and prepares laboratory spcimens in accordance with clinical protocols

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant essential
  • Proficiency with Accuro electronic medical records is essential
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently
  • Previous experience working in a Medical clinic is essential
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy standards

Pay: $16.83-$25.74 per hour
