JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for investigating and analyzing customer and marketing data to diagnose and resolve operational or data issues. This role ensures data integrity during transfer and migration across systems while facilitating business requirements, development, quality assurance (QA), and operations for new initiatives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Requirements & Documentation: Translate complex business requirements into detailed Jira user stories and functional specifications.
  • Issue & Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and operational issues, analyze root causes in collaboration with developers, and recommend viable mitigation strategies.
  • Quality Assurance: Design test scenarios, author test cases, and conduct quality assurance planning, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Data & Systems Analysis: Trace end-to-end data flows across systems, leveraging business knowledge and technical tooling to troubleshoot data discrepancies and execute necessary data clean-up.
  • Operations & Hand-off: Coordinate implementation hand-offs, pre-production testing, and post-production validation with Operations and cross-functional teams.
  • End-to-End Delivery: Contribute to projects across the complete Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), managing deliverables from requirements gathering and QA to deployment and post-implementation validation.
  • Initiative Management: Lead multiple concurrent initiatives, maintaining project priorities, deliverables, and timelines across Business, Development, and Operations teams.
  • Advocacy: Participate in recurring US-led Data Org and Martech team stand-up meetings and cross-functional reviews to advocate for Canadian business requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education & Technical Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in business analysis, system analysis, and data analysis principles.

Job-Related Experience

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in business analysis (intermediate to senior level).
  • Experience working with subscription management services applications.
  • Track record of building strong relationships and managing stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Solid background in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, including test planning, issue logging, project reporting, and risk escalation.
  • Demonstrated experience with IT project management methodologies to plan, monitor, and control delivery lifecycles.

Skills & Competencies

  • Methodologies: Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and SDLC frameworks.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and business acumen to align technology solutions with corporate strategies.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to negotiate, present points of view, and align cross-functional stakeholders toward actionable solutions.
  • Technical Skills & Tools:
  • Proficient in SQL and database querying, with SQL-based tools and DBVisualizer.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Data Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Databricksand Python (nice-to-have).

This position frequently requires collaborating with cross-functional leadership and technical teams to reach consensus, present technical/business perspectives, and influence key stakeholders toward optimal decisions and delivery strategies.
