Full job description

Employer in the building supplies sector is seeking an experienced Territory Manager to join the team in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

This role will be focused on business development and revenue growth to strengthen market presence. The Territory Manager is accountable for achieving sales targets, maintaining margins, and ensuring assigned territory fulfillment aligns with business objectives. They will build a high level of product knowledge, skills in negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal teams to enhance our clients financial performance and maximize profitability within the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in branch and business development meetings; review sales performance, margins, and market trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and execute sales and territory management plans, including prospecting, pipeline development, and key account growth.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through in-person visits, presentations, and consistent communication.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and sales forecasts; obtain approval for discounts below threshold levels and adjust strategies based on market conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to resolve client issues, support service excellence, and improve client satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed activity logs and track opportunities in the CRM; monitor sales KPIs and report on overall sales effectiveness.
  • Support engagement within the design community and participate in trade shows, events, and industry activities to expand brand visibility.
  • Manage expenses responsibly and assist with collections for overdue or slow-paying accounts.
  • Mentor, guide, and support other sales team members to reinforce best practices and uphold company values.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, results-oriented work culture that prioritizes organizational success over siloed thinking.

Qualifications:

  • 3 + years of experience in outside sales, project management, preferably within the building supplies industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
