Job Summary

M&U Toronto Corp. is seeking a driven and commercially minded Outside Sales / Business Development Representative to support the continued growth of our Canadian business.

M&U specializes in the distribution of food ingredients, flavor and fragrance raw materials, and related specialty products. With an established product portfolio, supply chain support, and an existing customer base in Canada, we are looking for a sales professional who can help us further develop the market, expand customer relationships, and identify new product opportunities that fit Canadian customer demand.

This role is ideal for a B2B sales professional with experience in food ingredients, flavor and fragrance, specialty chemicals, raw materials, ingredient distribution, or related industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing customer relationships, providing market feedback, and helping drive meaningful growth in Canada.

This is a growth-focused sales role. The position is not limited to maintaining existing accounts; we are looking for someone who can actively build new opportunities, open doors with customers, and contribute to the long-term expansion of M&U’s Canadian business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities with food manufacturers, flavor houses, fragrance companies, distributors, and related industrial customers
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with purchasing, R&D, regulatory, QA, supply chain, and management contacts
  • Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products from the company’s existing and potential product portfolio
  • Prospect new customers, qualify opportunities, arrange meetings, follow up on leads, and develop long-term sales pipelines
  • Manage the sales process from initial contact through quotation, sample coordination, technical documentation, follow-up, and order development
  • Work closely with internal teams on pricing, product availability, purchasing, logistics, documentation, and customer requirements
  • Provide market feedback to management regarding Canadian customer demand, competitor activity, pricing trends, and new product opportunities
  • Help identify product categories that may be suitable for expansion in the Canadian market
  • Support the growth of existing accounts while also developing new customer relationships and incremental business
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, opportunity pipeline, and regular sales updates
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits, industry events, and trade shows as required

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of B2B sales, business development, or account management experience
  • Experience in food ingredients, flavor and fragrance, specialty chemicals, raw materials, ingredient distribution, food manufacturing supply chain, or related B2B industries is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to develop new business opportunities and grow customer relationships
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles involving purchasing, R&D, QA, regulatory, and supply chain teams
  • Ability to understand customer needs and connect them with suitable product and supply solutions
  • Strong communication, follow-up, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple customer opportunities at different stages
  • Comfortable working in a developing business environment where market feedback and initiative are important
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for customer visits as required

Preferred Experience

  • Existing relationships with food manufacturers, flavor houses, fragrance companies, distributors, or related industrial customers
  • Experience selling raw materials, ingredients, additives, aroma chemicals, sweeteners, preservatives, specialty chemicals, or other B2B consumable products
  • Experience working with both existing accounts and new business development
  • Ability to provide insight into product opportunities suitable for the Canadian market
