Job Description

We are a growing import and wholesale company seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team. This role supports our sales department while managing select customer accounts and developing new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, confident on the phone, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day sales activities and manage assigned customer accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
  • Identify opportunities to grow sales within existing accounts
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries by phone and email
  • Prepare quotations and follow up on customer requests
  • Coordinate with purchasing and logistics team to ensure timely order fulfillment
  • Communicate with customers regarding lead times, pricing, and product information
  • Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate customer records within company systems
  • Assist with product launches, promotions, and other sales initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience in business development, account management, or a related industry.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers on the phone and building relationships through regular outbound and inbound communication
  • Experience managing customer accounts and providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience in importing, horticulture, nursery wholesale distribution, or garden products is considered a strong asset
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel within Canada, the United States, and internationally is required for customer visits, trade shows, and supplier meetings.
  • A valid passport or the ability to obtain one is required.

Compensation

  • Salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus based on individual performance and company results
