Job Summary
The Canadian Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for driving sales growth in Canada by developing and executing an annual go‑to‑market strategy that integrates high‑impact marketing campaigns, sales leadership, and strong brand positioning. This role oversees overall market sales performance, manages sales agencies, and leads local marketing teams. Reporting to the General Manager of Atomic North America, the Sales and Marketing Director serves as a key link in analyzing market trends, tracking market share, and delivering profitable, sustainable growth. This position works in close alignment with commercial, marketing, and product teams to ensure cohesive execution across the Canadian market.

Responsibilities

Define & Execute Canadian Growth Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy aligned with North American brand objectives, marketing campaigns and sales targets and product team.
  • Growth is not measured by topline expansion alone. It is defined by ensuring premium positioning across all channels while driving sustainable revenue and profitability.
  • The Canadian market operates with clear targets, predictable planning processes and strong forecast accuracy.

Drive Sales Excellence and Distribution Quality:

  • Own the end-to-end wholesale strategy as well as the e-commerce and own retail sales responsibility in alignment with NA goals, strengthening brand presence and elevating the consumer experience across all channels.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact epicenter opportunities within Canada, including selective wholesale expansion and potential retail opportunities.

Build Brand Equity & Consumer Engagement:

  • Lead strategic investments in priority markets to strengthen brand awareness and desirability.
  • Oversee integrated marketing and GTM plans that balance global consistency with Canadian relevance - driving awareness, desirability and sell-through performance.
  • Maintain high level relationships across key media, PR and industry partners.

Canada Leadership & Governance:

  • Select, manage, train, and set sales targets for regional sales representatives. Review on a yearly basis.
  • Establish a high-performing Canadian Sales & Marketing organization with clear roles, accountability and ways of working.
  • Canada operates with operational discipline, aligned governance with GM and strong partnership across the global organization and the wider Amer Sports ecosystem.
  • Be intimately familiar with all aspects of the Atomic product range range across all categories.
  • Select, manage, train, and set sales targets for regional sales representatives. Review on a yearly basis.

Oversee the Canadian Marketing Strategy & Plan:

  • Lead the development of a fully integrated, consumer-facing programs and drive key brand marketing initiatives in alignment with a unified sales and commercial plan inclusive of digital experience, community and sports marketing, events, branded space, PR, etc.
  • Develop annual marketing plans in strong alignment with sales, commercial and HQ marketing teams to support in achieving sales and brand targets.

Team Leadership:

  • Inspire and lead the Canadian team to deliver continued performance, building trusted relationships and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Work closely with marketing and product teams to ensure that the proper Go to Market preparation and execution is in place.
  • Build strong internal partnerships to ensure strategic alignment and leverage shared capabilities.
  • Establish and foster relationships within the Amer Sports organization, external partners and key stakeholders within the ski industry.

Technical Skills Required

  • Long-term experience in business management within a branded, international environment, with a proven track record of driving sustainable growth and market share growth.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian sporting goods wholesale and distribution landscape, including channel strategy, partner segmentation, and go-to-market execution.
  • Strong understanding of marketing funnel metrics, experience delivering high impact campaigns across multiple mediums.
  • Demonstrated commercial expertise in pricing strategy, margin management, trade terms and contract structuring
  • Proven ability to develop and execute Business Plans that translate strategic priorities into measurable business results.
  • Solid knowledge of omnichannel integration including the interaction between wholesale, own retail, and digital channels.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience in financial forecasting and KPI-based performance steering.
  • Experience operating in matrix organizations with global and regional interfaces.
  • Fluency in English (French language skills considered as plus).

Experience & Education

  • 10+ years of leadership experience within international branded sporting goods environment and track record of delivering profitable growth.
  • Proven P&L ownership at country level, with accountability for revenue growth and overall financial performance.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing strategy, margin optimization, trade terms negotiation.
  • Strong marketing exposure including development and execution of integrated go-to-market strategies.
  • Experience operating within wholesale and distribution models, with clear understanding of channel economics and partner segmentation.
  • Solid understanding of omnichannel business models, including the interaction between wholesale, own retail, and digital channels.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations with cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, International Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Professional development in commercial leadership, governance, or international business.
  • Additional executive education in Strategy, Finance or Negotiation is considered an advantage.

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
