Full job description

Ready to lead growth where relationships, technical credibility and results all matter?

This is not a role for someone who wants to lead from the sidelines. You will stay close to customers and the market while setting direction, developing a high-performing sales team, and creating the discipline needed to turn opportunities into sustainable, profitable growth.

You'll have the opportunity to shape Burckhardt Compression's Canadian sales approach, strengthen long-term partnerships, expand business with existing and new customers, and help the team win in a complex industrial market.

You'll be at your best here if...

  • You're both strategic and hands-on.
  • You are curious about the customer's business.
  • You create momentum.
  • You turn ideas into action and action into results.
  • You play to win the right way.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Service, you will lead sales and business development for Burckhardt Compression Canada (BCCA). You will be accountable for the annual sales plan and budget, market growth, sales profitability, customer strategy, opportunity quality, and the development and performance of the Canadian sales team.

What You'll Lead

  • Set the growth strategy. Assess the Canadian market, customer base, competitive landscape, market share, and emerging opportunities. Translate that insight into a focused sales strategy and annual plan.
  • Deliver the results. Own annual sales targets, profitability, market share growth, and strategic customer objectives.
  • Grow existing and new business. Strengthen customer relationships, identify new prospects, and develop opportunities across our service and compressor portfolio.
  • Lead from the front. Personally engage in strategic opportunities, negotiate effectively, and help move the right opportunities across the finish line.
  • Build strategic customer partnerships. Stay connected to customer priorities, create long-term value, and respond quickly to risks and opportunities.
  • Develop a high-performing team. Build on an already strong foundation by coaching, supporting, and challenging the team to achieve even greater success.
  • Create commercial discipline. Maintain strong forecasting, CRM practices, opportunity management, and accountability across the sales organization.
  • Connect customers and the organization. Foster collaboration between customers, sales, field service, and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer experiences and business outcomes.
  • Stay technically credible. Continue learning and developing your understanding of our products, services, and market so customers and colleagues can rely on your judgment.

What You'll Bring

  • A degree in Engineering, Business Administration, a recognized trade certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A successful track record in B2B industrial sales, including experience developing strategies, building relationships, and delivering business growth.
  • The ability to connect technical solutions to customer needs, commercial value, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing sales professionals.
  • Strong business judgment, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Copilot.
  • Experience in reciprocating compressors or related industrial markets is considered a strong asset.

Why Burckhardt Compression Canada?

Burckhardt Compression is the global market leader in reciprocating compressor systems and the only manufacturer and service provider that covers the full range of reciprocating compressor technologies and services. In Canada, we have built a strong reputation through our service business, trusted customer relationships, and commitment to solving complex challenges.

Success at BCCA is built on the expertise, commitment, and entrepreneurial spirit of our people. We solve complex challenges for our customers through technical excellence, collaboration, and trusted long-term partnerships. Relationships matter here—with our customers, our colleagues, and our communities.

At BCCA, you'll join a collaborative, values-driven team with ambitious goals, the backing of a globally recognized brand, and the opportunity to make a visible impact on the future growth of our Canadian business. You'll work alongside talented people across Canada and around the world while continuing to learn, grow, and develop as a leader.

We take pride in developing long-term careers and creating an environment where people can achieve their goals. In return, we offer competitive compensation, performance incentives, comprehensive benefits, and a culture that values accountability, continuous improvement, and success.

We're looking for a Director of Sales who is excited by the opportunity to help shape our next chapter. If you're energized by building markets, developing people, strengthening customer partnerships, and driving sustainable growth, we'd love to hear from you.
