Routes Car & Truck Rentals is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Mississauga.

About the Position

As a Senior Accountant, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day and month-end accounting operations of the business.

You will work closely with the Finance team and management and will have ownership of key accounting activities, including:

Key Responsibilities

· Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities

· Perform and oversee Accounts Payable (AP) functions

· Prepare and complete bank reconciliations

· Perform intercompany reconciliations

· Assist with month-end closing and reporting

· Prepare and support month-end financial statements

· Review general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies

· Analyze account balances and financial information

· Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner

· Maintain accurate, complete and well-organized financial records

· Assist with accounting schedules, reports and financial analysis

· Ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met

· Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information

· Perform other accounting duties and special projects as required

What We're Looking For

· We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented accounting professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team.

· More than 3 years of relevant accounting experience

· Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping

· Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

· Experience with bank and account reconciliations

· Experience with intercompany reconciliations

· Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting

· Hands-on experience with Sage software is required

· Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

· High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality

Education

A post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.

Relevant accounting experience and strong technical skills will also be considered.
