Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Site Safety Advisor to oversee and promote safety protocols on a construction site. This role is vital in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, minimizing risks, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among all personnel. The ideal candidate will have general contracting construction experience and familiarity with construction management software, enabling them to effectively monitor safety practices and coordinate safety initiatives on-site.

This project is fast paced and requires someone that can stay on top of multiple scopes of work that are ongoing at the same time.

Duties

  • Ongoing site safety support that includes orientations, safety meetings, contractor safety management, critical task review, and more.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with WSBC and other regulatory standards
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to specific project needs
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Collaborate with superintendents, foreman, contractors, and workers to address safety concerns promptly
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, safety meetings, incidents, and corrective measures taken
  • Assist in the development of emergency response plans and ensure their effective implementation
  • Stay updated on industry safety regulations and incorporate any necessary changes into site protocols

Skills

  • Proven experience in construction with a strong understanding of construction safety and site operations.
  • In depth knowledge on creating and reviewing fall protection plans, confined space entry plans, exposure control plans, and more.
  • Familiarity with construction management software for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey safety information to diverse teams
  • Strong analytical skills for hazard identification and risk assessment
  • Ability to foster a proactive safety culture through leadership and training
  • Attention to detail in monitoring compliance and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment

Training/Education

  • Minimum Construction Safety Officer (CSO). Preferably a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or National Health and Safety Administrator (NHSA) certificate or currently in pursuit of.
  • Current Advanced First Aid Certificate (OFA Level 3)
