Ampere Limited is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Health and Safety Manager to lead and manage our health and safety program. This role is primarily office-based, with regular collaboration with project managers, supervisors, and site personnel. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Ontario health and safety legislation, support our commercial construction operations, and help foster a strong safety-first culture across the organization

We are currently looking for a full time Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Ampere Limited’s health and safety policies, annual COR Certification, procedures, and programs in accordance with Ontario legislation
  • Ensure compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), applicable regulations, and industry best practices
  • Lead and maintain the Company’s COR Certification, including audits, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies including the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) and WSIB
  • Maintain and manage safety documentation, training records, certifications, incident reports, and compliance logs as required by MOL, COR Audit Program, IHSA Group and WSIB
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Coordinate safety training, onboarding orientations, toolbox talks, and certification tracking
  • Support project teams with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), site-specific safety plans, and pre-construction safety planning
  • Prepare for and participate in safety audits, site inspections, and regulatory visits
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics to senior management
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within commercial construction or electrical contracting
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario’s OHSA, construction regulations, and electrical safety standards
  • Proven COR Experience (audit preparation, maintenance and ceritification)
  • Experience managing health and safety programs in both office and active construction site environments
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with office staff, project managers, and field personnel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems (Site Docs)

Preferred Certifications (or willingness to obtain)

  • JHSC Certification (Part 1 & 2)
  • Internal COR Auditor
  • Working at Heights
  • WHMIS
  • First Aid / CPR / AED
  • CRSP, CHSC, NCSO or similar designation (or actively working toward) considered an asset
  • Certified & Approved MOL working at Heights Trainer & Elevated Lift / Platform Instructor( an asset)
  • Must have valid drivers license
