Position Details
Supply Chain Operations invites qualified applicants to apply for the full-time continuing position (35 hours/week) for a Materials Handling Worker to start August 4, 2026.

Note: A Strong internal candidate will be applying for the position

Reporting to the Manager of Supply Chain Operations, the Material Handler is responsible for managing and distributing the daily stream of mail and freight to all areas of campus.

Responsibilities:
As one of two material handling workers, this person will be responsible but not limited to the following:
  • Distribute all mail and freight to locations across campus
  • Off Campus Pick up and deliveries
  • Ensure all University Safety Policies and protocols are being adhered to on and off campus
  • Represent the University in a professional manner both on and off campus
  • Assisting with disposal of surplus goods
  • As well as any other duties that are considered relevant to the position

The standard workday is 7 hours with minimal overtime when required. This position is classified under the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE).

Starting Salary Range: $3,440.00 – $3,798.00 monthly
Full Salary Range: $3,798.00 – $4,156.00 monthly

Position Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a High School diploma with 1 – 2 years in a delivery Driver or similar position and proven ability to maintain relationships with customers and the general public. A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant should be physically fit as the job requires times of heavy lifting (22.6kg/50lbs or more), pushing/pulling of carts/freight and long periods of walking are all daily components of the job. The Applicant should also have strong written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Applicants that have experience with forklift operation, warehouse/stores operation, computer software (i.e. Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, ERP), and other related equipment would be considered an asset.
