We are looking to fill the position of Kitchen Manager, at Fernie Alpine Resort. The ideal candidate will have both previous kitchen and leadership experience, have an excellent knowledge of customer service and COS management experience. You will:

  • Ensure a comfortable and friendly atmosphere for both guests and staff
  • Perform effective and efficient daily operation and management of the kitchen staff to maintain the highest level of service, food quality and product consistency
  • Promote a safe, sanitized work site, ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness, safety and storage management
  • Maintain and enhance product offerings in partnership with the F&B Director
  • Assist in the planning, execution and follow up on food product for catering events, group functions and weddings
  • Hire, train, coach, mentor, supervise and develop a successful & enthusiastic team of kitchen employees
  • Manage scheduling in accordance with labour targets and employment policies
  • Complete payroll processes in an accurate and timely manner
  • Administer budgets for food product, monitor and track inventory and ordering systems
  • Complete weekly and seasonal reports to the F&B Director as required
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments to fulfill the overall resort objectives
  • Maintain, coach, mentor and contribute to the Guiding Principles of RCR
  • Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
  • Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
  • Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management Program/Return to Work Programs

You have:

  • Supervisory experience, but we will train and provide the opportunity for growth for the right candidate!
  • Chef/Cook certification (preferred)
  • Food Safe Certificate (required)
  • A minimum of two years food and beverage experience
  • A minimum of two years leadership (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • The physical capability to lift moderately heavy items, stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive wage: $24.00-27.00/hour, dependent on experience
