Robotic Operator / Programmer – Yaskawa Robots

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Robotic (Operator)/ Programmer with experience operating, troubleshooting, and programming Yaskawa Motoman robotic systems in a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of robotic production cells, programming and modifying robot programs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Robot Operation

• Safely operate Motoman robotic welding.
• Monitor robotic cells during production and ensure proper operation.
• Load and unload fixtures, components, and materials as required.
• Perform routine inspections of robotic equipment and production fixtures.
• Ensure robots are operating within established production and quality requirements.

Robot Programming

• Create, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot Motoman robot programs.
• Teach and adjust robot points and motion paths.
• Perform robot touch-ups to maintain weld quality and production accuracy.
• Develop programs for new parts and production requirements.
• Optimize robot cycle times while maintaining quality and safety.
• Assist with robot cell setup and commissioning.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move materials within applicable workplace limits.
• Ability to work around welding equipment, machinery, noise, heat, and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to wear required PPE.
• Ability to work in confined areas around robotic cells when equipment is properly isolated and safe to access.

Performance Expectations

The Robotic Operator / Programmer is expected to:

• Maintain safe robotic operations.
• Minimize production downtime.
• Maintain consistent product quality.
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve robotic cycle time, quality, and reliability.
• Communicate production and equipment issues effectively.
• Support the training of robotic operators and other production employees.

Preferred Certifications / Training

• Yaskawa Motoman programming training.
• Robotic welding certification or training.
• Welding certification — asset.
