Full job description

PAINTER

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces for painting
  • Repair cracks, holes, and imperfections
  • Apply paint, stain, and specialty finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
  • Set up ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and rigging
  • Perform surface preparation including drywall patching, wallpaper removal, stipple removal, and pressure washing
  • Work collaboratively in teams at various residential and commercial job sites
  • Use of mobile device to track & log work hours and location

QUALIFICATIONS

· Valid MB Driver’s License Class 5 minimum.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work at heights including a ladder, scaffold or MEWPS (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to use power tools (such as drills, power sanders, orbital sanders, etc)
  • Physical ability to perform all assigned tasks, including heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.

EXPERIENCE (bonus points)

  • Brush, roller, and spray painting
  • Wood finishing (cleaning, staining, sealing)
  • Specialty coatings and multi-color finishes
  • Use of airless and conventional spray equipment
  • Drywall taping and patching

ENVIRONMENT

  • Outdoor and indoor residential and commercial job sites
  • Exposure to paint odours, dust, and varying weather conditions
  • Travel to various customer locations

COMPENSATION

  • Average earnings: $20–$26 per hour, based on experience
  • Speed & quality based, project related bonuses
  • Full training in residential and commercial painting
  • WCB coverage
  • Opportunities for advancement

Pay: $18.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
