Experienced Motorhand

We are currently hiring for an experienced Motorhand at Twilight Drilling Ltd. to fill a full time position in Slave Lake, AB.

Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility of a Motorhand is to guarantee that all equipment is operational and running as intended
  • Regular inspection and maintenance of the equipment specifically related to the engines that power the drilling rig. These include but are not limited to drilling rig engines, transmissions, heating systems, diesel electric generators and motors, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Operate and maintain the engines that run the drawworks, turn the rotary table, and circulate drilling fluid
  • Monitor inventories for fuel, oil filters, lube oils, greases, and other service items
  • Maintain equipment logs and preventative maintenance records as required
  • Perform routine rig inspections to assess rig maintenance standards, ensuring adherence to applicable maintenance protocols
  • Housekeeping to maintain rig lease site and rig cleanliness
  • Organize and clean tools, supplies, and rig floor equipment
  • Regular inspection of safety and support equipment to maintain its proper function. These include but are not limited to the company’s fire extinguishers and breathing apparatuses.
  • Train and mentor current and new crew members in job positions below Motorhand

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Minimum 1 year experience working as a Motorhand on a drilling rig
  • Minimum valid class 5 driver's licence and a reliable means of transportation to get to and from the rig location
  • Ability to work in a non-camp setting
  • Be prepared with PPE (hard hat, steel-toed boots, fire retardant coveralls, safety glasses, gloves)

Hold valid industry safety training certificates including, but not limited to:

  • Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive
  • Oilfield Loader Operator
  • Confined Space Entry & Rescue
  • Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection for Rig Work
  • Energy Safety Canada Fall Rescue for Rig Work
  • eGSO, PST, CSO, or equivalent
