Bilingual Food Runner / Server Assistant

Fluent Mandarin and English Required

THE FISH MAN is hiring an experienced Food Runner / Server Assistant for our busy seafood restaurant in Richmond, BC.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with restaurant experience who works quickly, stays organized and takes responsibility during busy service.

Compensation:

  • Base wage: $–$ per hour
  • Average gratuities: approximately $15–$20 per hour
  • Actual gratuities vary depending on restaurant sales and individual shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dishes quickly and accurately to the correct tables
  • Clearly announce dishes when serving guests
  • Clear, clean and reset tables efficiently
  • Support Servers throughout the dining service
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams
  • Maintain clean service stations and dining areas
  • Complete assigned opening and closing duties

Requirements:

  • Fluent spoken Mandarin is required for daily team communication
  • Good English communication skills are required for guest service
  • Minimum one year of experience in a busy restaurant environment
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Able to identify table numbers and dishes accurately
  • Reliable, punctual and able to maintain a consistent schedule
  • Evening and weekend availability
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
