Full job description

Job Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented, Bilingual (English & Chinese) Medical Assistant with experience in Eye Care. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative and clinical support in a busy medical practice. This role requires proficiency in Accuro electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication skills to facilitate efficient clinic workflows. Prior experience is highly valued but we can provide training.

We see patients on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Job applicant will need to work two to three of these days onsite (Burnaby and/or Richmond), and may be given opportunity to work from home. Preference is given to applicants who can work in both locations.

Duties

  • Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, managing medical supplies, and assisting with data entry tasks.
  • Manage patient intake, scheduling, and appointment confirmations using Accuro EMR system.
  • Assist with billing procedures (optional)
  • Handle front desk responsibilities such as answering phones, greet patients, enter patient information in the EMR.
  • Perform vision pre-testing and/or diagnostic testing
  • Support the doctors with medical chart preparation, and scribing.
  • Explain terminology and conditions to patients.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English & Chinese abilities are REQUIRED to enhance patient communication and service delivery.
  • Prior clinic or eye doctor office experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of eye terminology and conditions, and skills operating VF, OCT, Fundus Camera are highly desirable.
  • Able to travel between clinic locations in Burnaby and Richmond.
