Full job description

Part-Time Kitchen Help

Chillabongs Bar and Grill is currently seeking an experienced and dependable individual to join our kitchen team on a permanent part-time basis. There is potential for full-time employment in the future for the right candidate.

We operate a fast-paced pub and sports bar kitchen and are looking for someone who is comfortable working under pressure, communicates well with coworkers, and takes pride in maintaining consistent food quality and a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to restaurant standards
  • Cook steaks and other proteins to requested temperatures and doneness
  • Maintain and restock kitchen stations throughout the shift
  • Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning duties
  • Assist coworkers with immediate needs during busy service periods
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Learn and work a variety of shifts, including opening, midshift, and closing shifts

Qualifications

  • must be 18 years or older
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar restaurant, pub, or commercial kitchen environment
  • Experience cooking steaks and other proteins to requested doneness
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized during high-volume service
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Willingness to learn different stations and responsibilities
  • References must be available
  • Open availability is preferred, with particular need for weekend evening availability

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Ability to safely lift and carry 20 pounds or more
  • Ability to perform the physical duties associated with working in a commercial kitchen

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting wage: $15.00 per hour
  • Tips paid biweekly
  • Complimentary meal during each shift
  • Full coverage benefits available after successful completion of the probationary period
  • Permanent part-time position with the possibility of full-time employment in the future

We are looking for someone who can become a dependable member of our kitchen team and contribute to maintaining a consistent, efficient, and professional working environment.

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week

Work Location: In person
