Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and cooking authentic African dishes, following established recipes and standards
  • Support food handling procedures to maintain cleanliness, safety, and quality in the kitchen
  • Help with food presentation and plating to ensure visually appealing dishes for customers
  • Maintain organized workstations, ensuring all ingredients and utensils are properly stored and sanitized
  • Support serving staff by preparing meals for delivery or dine-in service efficiently and accurately
  • Follow food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with kitchen staff and supporting busy service periods

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of African cuisine, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques is a plus
  • Familiarity with food handling safety standards and restaurant operations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment
