Kitchen Helper – Full-Time

Burnt Toast Cafe
2112 2nd Avenue, Whitehorse, Yukon
$20.00 per hour | Permanent, Full-time | 40 hours per week

Burnt Toast Cafe is looking for reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our team in Whitehorse.

This position is primarily focused on supporting our busy breakfast and lunch service. Early morning availability is required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare breakfast items such as eggs, toast, hash browns, pancakes, sandwiches, and other simple food items
  • Assist with general food preparation and portioning
  • Package food for take-out orders
  • Stock and restock ingredients and kitchen supplies
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and kitchen equipment
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area
  • Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Assist cooks and other kitchen staff as required

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in breakfast cooking, food preparation, or a similar kitchen position
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Must be available for early morning shifts
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
  • Food Handler Certificate is an asset; employer can support obtaining certification if required
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
