Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a friendly, dependable Food Counter Attendant to provide welcoming, efficient service in a fast-paced food service environment. This role supports daily counter operations, prepares and serves food, processes customer orders, and helps maintain a clean and sanitary workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers, answer questions about menu items, and take orders accurately.
  • Prepare, assemble, and serve food and beverages according to established procedures.
  • Operate a POS system, including Micros POS where applicable, to enter orders and process transactions.
  • Handle cash and payments accurately and provide correct change.
  • Offer menu suggestions and use appropriate upselling techniques to enhance the customer experience.
  • Follow food safety and food handling practices, including proper storage and hygiene procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize counters, equipment, utensils, and dining or service areas.
  • Restock supplies and communicate inventory or equipment needs to the team.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to keep orders moving and serve customers promptly.

Qualifications

  • Customer service skills and a courteous, professional approach.
  • Food preparation, food handling, and sanitation skills, or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with cashiering, cash handling, and POS systems; Micros POS experience is a plus.
  • Food service, restaurant, food industry, serving, or kitchen experience is preferred.
  • Basic math and general math skills for processing orders and payments.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively during busy periods.
  • Commitment to following food safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area.

Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
