Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Remote Camp Cook / Chef and bring your culinary expertise to remote, adventurous locations! This energetic role is perfect for passionate food industry professionals who thrive in team environments, enjoy preparing delicious meals, and excel in leadership. As a key member of our camp operations, you will be responsible for creating nutritious, satisfying dishes that keep our team energized and motivated. Your culinary skills will be complemented by your ability to supervise kitchen staff, manage food safety standards, and deliver exceptional food service in a remote setting. Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to dietary needs and menu plans, ensuring high-quality food presentation and flavor.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing leadership, guidance, and training to maintain efficient food preparation and service.
  • Manage food handling procedures, ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimizing waste.
  • Coordinate with camp management to plan menus that meet nutritional requirements and accommodate special dietary restrictions.
  • Lead food service operations during meal times, including serving meals and managing clean-up processes.
  • Maintain detailed records of food safety practices, inventory logs, and staff schedules to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing kitchen teams or restaurant staff.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Excellent team management skills with a focus on fostering a positive work environment.
  • Experience in restaurant management or hospitality roles is highly desirable.
