Server / Cashier
Top Notch Breakfast Restaurant is looking for a reliable, friendly Server/Cashier to join our team.
The job includes taking and serving orders, using the POS and cashing customers out, answering the phone for takeout orders, clearing and resetting tables, rolling cutlery, cleaning washrooms, restocking supplies, and helping with basic food prep or kitchen tasks when needed.
Servers are expected to follow the order-taking system we train them on. Orders should be entered into the POS promptly after each table is taken rather than collecting several tables and ringing everything in at once, as this can create major delays in the kitchen.
Dishwashing is also part of the position when needed. On days when no dishwasher is scheduled, servers rotate dishwashing duties and are expected to make sure the remaining dishes are completed before leaving.
Opening duties are simple and may include setting out creamers and milkettes, starting the coffee, putting out ketchup, and moving laundry into the dryer.
The restaurant closes at 2:00 PM, but servers will normally finish around 2:30–3:00 PM, depending on how much closing work is completed before closing. Closing includes cleaning and resetting the dining room, restocking tables and server areas, refilling ketchup, rolling cutlery, cleaning washrooms, finishing dishes, shutting down the coffee area, putting towels and aprons in the wash, and leaving the restaurant ready for the next morning.
We are looking for someone dependable who works well with others, can handle a busy breakfast rush, and understands that everyone helps where needed.
Previous serving experience is preferred but not required. Smart Serve is required; if you do not currently have it, you must obtain it within two weeks of starting.
Pay: Up to $17.60 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
