Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Convenience Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our retail location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining store profitability. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management to ensure the store runs smoothly and efficiently. The Convenience Store Manager will play a key role in driving sales, managing inventory, and fostering a positive shopping environment for customers and staff alike.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise store staff, including recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service.
  • Oversee daily store operations, including cash handling, POS transactions, merchandising, pricing, and inventory management.
  • Manage purchasing decisions to maintain optimal stock levels while controlling costs.
  • Implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as company policies.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and provide ongoing training & development opportunities.
  • Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Maintain administrative records such as bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and sales reporting.
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures efficiently while ensuring security protocols are followed.

Skills

  • Proven experience in retail management or store supervision with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in phone etiquette and customer service excellence.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple responsibilities.
  • Expertise in merchandising, pricing strategies, sales management, and marketing techniques.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and administrative tasks.
  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff members.
  • Ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering teamwork and motivating employees toward common goals.
  • Strong negotiation skills for purchasing supplies and vendor relations.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
