Summary

'Head Chef' position offers an exciting opportunity to lead our culinary team at The Green Pig Country Market. You will be creating a daily special as well as many prepared foods and to - go items focussing on what will be coming in daily from our gardens. We are also looking for someone who enjoys making pickles and preserves as we grow over 100 acres of produce including cucumbers and strawberries.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Lead and manage the culinary team with a focus on teamwork and professional development.
  • Develop daily specials that align with the seasons and customer preferences.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and quality control.
  • Manage food inventory and control costs effectively.
  • Train staff on food handling procedures and safety regulations.
  • Create appealing products to sell & promote our cafe.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service through culinary excellence.
  • Qualifications

'Head Chef' candidates should possess:

  • Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
  • Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience in restaurant management is preferred.
  • Ability to develop creative menus and manage inventory.
