Full job description

Work and adventure with us here on BC’s Sunshine Coast! This job is located in Egmont, British Columbia and applicants must be willing to relocate or reliably commute to our job site for this position.

We are looking for Servers/Bartenders to join our team for the busy summer season at the resort. If you love variety in your work, you may love this job!

We are looking for staff with a positive attitude who love working as a team, and are willing to work hard while on shift. Enjoy all the outdoor activities that the Sunshine Coast has to offer. Responsibilities:

· Create a welcoming and exceptional guest experience in all aspects of your work

· Check guest identification and monitor guest drinking in accordance with Serving it Right procedures

· Take food and beverage orders and submit them to the kitchen, ensuring the communication of dietary restrictions and special requests

· Provide menu recommendations to guests, ensuring smooth service

· Take food from kitchen to table quickly and efficiently

· Set up tables with clean cutlery, napkins and appropriate condiments

· Clear and clean tables maintaining clean, communicable disease safe practices

· Answer phone calls and in-person guest requests in a friendly and professional manner

· Understand guest expectations and anticipate problems to proactively prevent complaints

· Professionally handle guest complaints, identify issues and take appropriate action to resolve

· Ensure stock is replenished including polishing and wrapping cutlery, cutting and preparing drink garnishes and ensuring glassware and bar tools are regularly cleaned with disease safe practices

· Collaborate with other departments to fulfill guest requests contributing to a positive guest experience across the entire property

· Maintain cleanliness of the pub and pub washrooms

· Ensure accuracy in all transactions and the balancing of the daily cash out

· Other duties and assistance in additional departments assigned

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Valid Serving it Right Certificate required

· Minimum 2 years’ serving experience

· Knowledge of food and drink menus with ability to offer suggestions and up sell

· Guest service oriented with ability to provide friendly and proactive service

· High attention to detail ensuring accuracy handling information and transactions

· Professional demeanor with the ability to lead by example

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills

· Ability to solve problems, finding effective solutions in a fast-paced work environment

· Team player with strong conflict resolution skills

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a timely and productive manner

· Flexibility in scheduling needs and tasks with a willingness to assist in additional departments

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $18.25 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
