JOB SUMMARY

In this high volume restaurant the Restaurant Assistant General Manager will report to the Restaurant General Manager and is responsible to ensure enthusiastic, courteous and superior quality of service is provided to all customers, while striving to create a venue staffed by knowledgeable, helpful, and cheerful restaurant staff who are motivated on exceeding guest satisfaction and operating revenue targets.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to: Recruiting/hiring/training/scheduling/evaluating and counselling team members, applying all operating equipment and cash control standards and systems are used; completing inventory checks, supervising the restaurant floor and kitchen to ensure that operations are effectively and efficiently carried out, while continually looking for ways to improve operations in order to increase revenue and decrease cost.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrates commitment and passion to maximizing guest satisfaction at each stage of the guest experience. Establishes immediate credibility with guests and staff – leads all staff by example
  • Demonstrate willingness / enjoyment to attend to the needs of others
  • Approachable: Establishes immediate credibility with guests and staff – leads all staff by example
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain professional composure at all times, regardless of issue, while performing multiple tasks among staff, multiple guests/multiple items/products; Employs persuasion and influence to initiate and/or resolve matters; Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates ability to lead/supervise a large team of Food and Beverage staff. Sets high priorities/ standards, and demonstrates urgency to achieve critical goals and objectives;
  • Develops all staff to the best of their personal capabilities. Directs supervisory and non-supervisory staff in an efficient and forthright manner,
  • Demonstrates personal involvement and supervision to ensure the workplace is safe for all guests and staff. Enforces all health and safety/sanitation standards.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and conversational ability in order to train staff to effortlessly provide guest experience and in order to encourage both cross-promotion/sales of related restaurant and company services/activities/products across the complex. Trains and corrects staff, as required, in order to ensure all staff operate at a consistent level of performance;
  • Outstanding attention to detail – both personal grooming/appearance and in properly identifying guest’s needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention
  • Demonstrates reading comprehension ability (i.e. Assist guests in reading of company / local tourism literature in order to increase guest satisfaction during stay/ visit.
  • Ability to quickly respond to changing work volume; high-energy level/speed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of restaurant management including BOH and FOH operations
  • Willingness to work all shifts including days/evenings/weekends and holidays.
  • Previous Supervisory or Management experience in Food and Beverage, hospitality is an asset
