About us

Avani Asian Indian Bistro has been serving the finest Indian cuisine in Brampton, Mississauga and Burlington for over 18 years. Commonly hailed as the best Indian Restaurant in the GTA, Avani prides itself on providing superior service, food and ambience. Our location at 2710 North Park Drive, Unit 1, Brampton, ON and at 801 Matheson Blvd W., Unit 1, Mississauga, ON are currently looking for experienced servers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide our guests with outstanding hospitality by being courteous, genuinely friendly, attentive, efficient, accurate, and anticipating their needs.
  • Provide food and drink suggestions and take orders from guests, checking for accuracy, and entering them into a point-of-sale system.
  • Greet guests, take orders, deliver food and drinks accurately in a timely manner.
  • Learn our menu and have a detailed knowledge of Avani's food and drinks and be able to comfortably answer questions that guests may have.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in expeditor, host and dining areas
  • Follow all food and guest safety procedures and guidelines including proper hygiene, sanitation, and rotation.
  • Communicate and work well with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the restaurant and to ensure guests are looked after at all times.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a restaurant setting with a strong focus on guest service
  • Excellent food and drink and food handling and safety knowledge
  • Proficient in cash handling and basic math skills
  • Strong time management abilities to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Vexilor (Give-X), is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Smart Serve certification
