What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner while maintaining consistency and presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures.
- Monitor food inventory and communicate supply requirements to management.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food deliveries.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance concerns.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Adhere to all Alberta Health Services and workplace health and safety regulations.
- Support kitchen cleaning duties, including dishwashing, workstation sanitation, and end-of-shift cleanup.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while delivering excellent service.
- Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, camp, healthcare, or hospitality environment.
- Valid Food Handling Certificate (mandatory).
- Vulnerability section check is good to have
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation to Barrhead, Alberta, or willingness to relocate/commute.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.
