Job Title: Line Cook

Location: BarrHead, Alberta (On-site)

Work Type: Temporary

Salary: $20 - $22

We are currently seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our team in Barrhead, Alberta. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service. The successful candidate will be organized, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality food while working collaboratively with the kitchen team.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner while maintaining consistency and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control procedures.
  • Monitor food inventory and communicate supply requirements to management.
  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food deliveries.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Adhere to all Alberta Health Services and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Support kitchen cleaning duties, including dishwashing, workstation sanitation, and end-of-shift cleanup.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while delivering excellent service.
What You Will Bring

  • Previous experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, camp, healthcare, or hospitality environment.
  • Valid Food Handling Certificate (mandatory).
  • Vulnerability section check is good to have
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation to Barrhead, Alberta, or willingness to relocate/commute.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.
