Position Summary

With a strong background in commercial cooking from restaurants and other industrial kitchen settings, the Production Associate in the Culinary Department is responsible for preparing and producing high-quality meat products in accordance with established recipes, food safety standards, and production schedules. This role involves accurately measuring ingredients, operating food production equipment, and following standardized procedures to manufacture products such as sausage rolls, meatballs, marinated meats, soups, sauces, and other value-added meat products. The Production Associate plays a key role in maintaining product quality, consistency, and food safety while contributing to an efficient production process.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Food Preparation

  • Follow standardized recipes, formulations, and production instructions with precision.
  • Prepare and process meat products including sausages, meatballs, pizza toppings, seasoned meats, and other specialty products.
  • Accurately measure, weigh, and mix ingredients according to established specifications.
  • Portion, shape, stuff, package, and label products as required.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production process to ensure consistency and compliance with company standards.
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Food Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout each shift.
  • Conduct visual inspections of raw materials and finished products to identify quality concerns.
  • Follow proper handling, storage, and temperature control procedures for food products.
  • Report any food safety, quality, or equipment concerns to a supervisor immediately.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

  • Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of equipment, tools, and workstations.
  • Follow lockout and safety procedures when required.
  • Assist with basic equipment checks and notify maintenance of any issues.

Teamwork & Compliance

  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are achieved.
  • Follow all company policies, workplace safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support inventory rotation and proper stock handling using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principles.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, closely involved in cooking with established recipes in a fast-paced restaurants or other industrial food processing and kitchen environments.
  • Ability to accurately follow written recipes and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in cold environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated environments.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving bending, reaching, lifting, and handling food products.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30pm

Pay: $18.50-$20.00 per hour
