Overview

Mary's Bleue Moon Cafe, a busy Sidney family restaurant, is looking for a line cook to join our team. We have been a staple in Sidney for more than 80 years, with established local clientele who keep us busy year round. the position comes with medical, dental, and extended benefits after 3 months. tips are on top of compensation listed

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients to streamline kitchen operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food handling and safety regulations.
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by efficiently managing multiple orders and prioritizing tasks.
  • Ensure all food is stored properly, rotated regularly, and handled safely to prevent contamination or spoilage.
  • Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and presentation.
  • Follow all health department guidelines and restaurant policies to uphold a safe, hygienic environment.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy pots or ingredients, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail in meal preparation, plating, and cleanliness.
