Full job description

  • Warmly welcome guests as they enter.
  • Use respectful greetings.
  • Seating Guests
  • Escort them to a clean, prepared table.
  • Provide menus (explain if there are special Indian dishes or a thali buffet).
  • Taking Orders
  • Explain menu items, especially traditional or regional Indian dishes.
  • Offer recommendations based on customer preferences (spice level, vegetarian, Jain, etc.).
  • Accurately enter orders into the POS system.
  • Serving Food & Beverages
  • Serve dishes in the correct order, ensuring presentation is appealing.
  • Know how to describe items like naan, biryani, dosa, paneer, etc.
  • Serve water/refreshments and refill as needed.
  • Clean dishes and stocking as required
  • Handling Customer Inquiries & Complaints
  • Address concerns promptly and politely.
  • Involve the manager when needed.
  • Always maintain a respectful tone, especially if the customer is unfamiliar with Indian cuisine.
  • Table Maintenance
  • Regularly check on guests (e.g., “Is everything to your satisfaction?”).
  • Clear plates, refill water, and ensure cleanliness
