Now Hiring: Experienced Part-Time Server

Murasaki Japanese Restaurant is looking for an experienced part-time server to join our dining service team.

We are a local Japanese restaurant in Port Moody’s Newport Village, serving sushi, Japanese grill, and West Coast–style Japanese cuisine since 2012. We are known for our warm, family-friendly atmosphere, comfortable booths, and many regular guests from the neighbourhood.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is service-minded, and can stay calm and organized in a busy restaurant environment. As a team, we prioritize in creating a comfortable, warm, and attentive dining experience for our guests.

What We’re Looking For

  • 1 year of experience working as a server in a sushi or Japanese restaurant or other similar hospitality setting
  • A service-minded attitude: friendly, helpful, customer-facing, and confident with guests
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Ability to work well with the kitchen team and other staff members
  • Ability to stay calm, multitask, and prioritize during busy service times
  • A reliable, self-sufficient mindset and willingness to take initiative
  • Part-time availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Serving It Right certificate
  • Interest in sushi and Japanese cuisine is an asset
  • Comfortable and reliable commute to our Port Moody location

What You’ll Do

  • Provide warm, professional, and friendly service to our guests
  • Help create a welcoming dining experience for regulars, families, and new customers
  • Learn our menu and confidently offer recommendations
  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen and service team
  • Support smooth service during both quiet and busy periods
  • Handle guest needs with care, flexibility, and good judgment

What We Offer

At Murasaki, we aim to create a supportive and welcoming workplace, just like the neighbourhood we are part of in Newport Village and Port Moody.

As a well-established local restaurant with many regular customers, we offer a steady environment where you can grow your hospitality skills, learn more about sushi and Japanese cuisine, and work as part of a friendly team.

We offer competitive wages plus tips, and staff meals are provided.

How to Apply

Please send us your resume with a short introduction about yourself and your availability.

You are also welcome to drop by the restaurant during business hours.

We look forward to meeting you.
