Job Summary

Tonic Kitchen & Bar at Hotel Clique Calgary Airport is looking for an experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant and bar while ensuring exceptional guest service, food quality, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate restaurant and kitchen team members.
  • Lead daily restaurant and bar operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service by maintaining high standards of hospitality.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control to ensure consistency.
  • Train, coach, and support team members in customer service, food safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Assist with onboarding and evaluating team members.
  • Prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Maintain inventory levels and order food, beverages, and supplies as required.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs while minimizing waste through proper storage and inventory rotation.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, wastage, and temperature logs.
  • Ensure compliance with all Alberta Health Services food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards are consistently met.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and resolve issues whenever possible.
  • Report maintenance issues and follow up on repairs as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Food & Beverage with administrative duties, special projects, and other operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Banquet experience is preferred.
  • Good understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Experience with inventory control, labour management, and cost control.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service and professionally handle guest concerns.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
  • ProServe certification (or ability to obtain) is considered an asset.
  • Food Safety Certification is considered an asset.
