Experienced Hotel Maintenance Person

Hotel Senator – Saskatoon, SK

Hotel Senator is seeking an experienced and dependable Hotel Maintenance Person to support the ongoing maintenance, safety, and appearance of our historic boutique hotel and its food and beverage outlets.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with general building maintenance and be comfortable working independently in a busy hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs
  • Troubleshoot heating, cooling, refrigeration, lighting, and mechanical issues
  • Maintain guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, restaurants, and exterior areas
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational emergencies
  • Complete routine inspections of equipment, mechanical rooms, and building systems
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when required
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance
  • Ensure tools, supplies, and maintenance areas are organized and secure
  • Follow workplace health, safety, fire, and building regulations
  • Assist with snow removal, seasonal maintenance, and other property-related duties

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel, commercial building, apartment, or facility maintenance experience required
  • Strong knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs
  • Experience working with HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, or commercial kitchen equipment is an asset
  • Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Professional, dependable, and able to communicate effectively with staff and guests
  • Must be physically able to lift, carry, bend, climb, and perform hands-on maintenance work
  • Valid driver’s licence is an asset

Schedule

  • Full-time or part-time hours may be available
  • Day, evening, weekend, and emergency availability may occasionally be required
  • Schedule will be discussed during the interview process

Compensation

Competitive hourly wage based on experience, qualifications, and availability.

Hotel Senator is a historic boutique hotel located in downtown Saskatoon. The property includes guest accommodations, Winston’s English Pub & Grill, Flanagan’s Steakhouse, and 21st Street Brewery. Our maintenance team plays an important role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained experience for our guests and employees.
