Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Food Service Supervisor and lead the charge in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our residents in long term care! In this energetic role, you will oversee daily food service operations, supervise staff, ensure food safety standards are met, and maintain high levels of resident satisfaction. Your leadership will inspire teamwork, streamline kitchen and service processes, and uphold our commitment to quality and hospitality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in a fast-paced food industry environment while developing your management skills.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily food preparation, cooking, serving, and food handling activities to ensure smooth operations. Ensure all therapeutic diets are adhered to and managed properly.
  • Lead and motivate a team of food service, housekeeping and laundry including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Oversee food safety compliance by monitoring hygiene standards, proper food storage, and sanitation procedures in accordance with health
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing resident inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in the residents home.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery, quality control, and adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory levels, food costs, and staff schedules to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Skills
  • Proven experience in food service in a long term care setting with a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Demonstrated supervising experience with team management skills including interviewing and training new staff members.
  • Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Familiarity with scheduling systems and financial applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle resident and family concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced long term care environment.
  • Experience in managing a housekeeping dept is an asset to ensure the home is kept exceptionally clean.
