Hastings House Country House Hotel, a proud member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux collection, is seeking an experienced Fine Dining Evening Server to join our award-winning Food & Beverage team.

Position Summary

As a Fine Dining Evening Server, you will provide attentive, professional service in our acclaimed restaurant while working alongside our talented culinary and wine teams. You will guide guests through seasonal menus, recommend wine and beverage pairings, and deliver the exceptional level of service expected at a Relais & Châteaux property.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver warm, personalized, and professional fine dining service.

· Welcome guests and create memorable dining experiences from arrival through departure.

· Present seasonal menus and confidently explain ingredients, preparation methods, and daily features.

· Recommend wines, cocktails, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages to complement each meal.

· Execute refined table service using classic fine dining standards.

· Maintain thorough knowledge of food, wine, allergens, and dietary accommodations.

· Work collaboratively with the kitchen, bartenders, sommeliers, and support staff to ensure seamless service.

· Anticipate guest needs while maintaining a calm, polished, and professional demeanor.

· Prepare dining areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

· Process orders and payments accurately using the POS system.

· Uphold the hospitality standards and service philosophy of Hastings House and Relais & Châteaux.

Qualifications

· Minimum 2 years of experience as a restaurant server, fine dining server, or in luxury hospitality.

· Previous experience in a boutique hotel, luxury resort, or upscale restaurant is considered an asset.

· Strong food, wine, cocktail, and beverage knowledge.

· Wine education (WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, ISG, or equivalent) is considered a strong asset.

· Valid Serving It Right certification is required.

· Outstanding communication and guest service skills.

· Professional appearance and attention to detail.

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining exceptional service standards.

· Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

· A genuine passion for hospitality and creating unforgettable guest experiences.

Position Details

· Job Type: Full-time or Part-time, Seasonal

· Contract Term: Seasonal position ending November 2

· Schedule:

o 8-hour evening shifts

o Evenings

o Weekends and holidays as required

Location

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Salt Spring Island, BC V8K 2S2, or plan to relocate before their start date. Subsidized staff accommodation is available for eligible employees.
