Banquet Server – Fake Indian Wedding Experience

Event Dates: October 2 & 3, 2026
Location: Florence Filberg Centre, Courtenay, BC

Job Summary

Jalsa Events is seeking energetic, friendly, and dependable Banquet Servers for our two-day Fake Indian Wedding Experience. You will help create a welcoming and memorable experience for guests while assisting with food service, table maintenance, event setup, and cleanup.

This is a fast-paced, family-friendly cultural celebration featuring Indian food, music, dancing, performances, and wedding traditions.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service
  • Assist with banquet and buffet setup before the event
  • Serve food and beverages safely and efficiently
  • Refill buffet items, water, drinks, plates, and cutlery as needed
  • Clear used dishes and maintain clean guest tables
  • Communicate with catering and event staff to ensure smooth service
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
  • Respond promptly and respectfully to guest requests
  • Assist with event cleanup and breakdown after service
  • Perform other banquet-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous banquet, restaurant, catering, or hospitality experience is preferred
  • FoodSafe certification is an asset
  • Friendly, positive, and guest-focused attitude
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a busy event environment
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Able to carry trays and lift approximately 25 pounds
  • Professional appearance and strong communication skills
  • Must be available on October 2 and/or October 3, 2026
