Full job description

Starsky Fine Foods in Mississauga is currently recruiting for an Produce Manager.

The Produce Manager is responsible for:

  • Providing daily supervision to department staff to ensure that the work activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Practice excellent customer service skills by greeting customers and answering their inquiries in a timely, thorough and professional fashion.
  • Handle all customer questions, concerns and complaints.
  • Performs assigned stocking, picking, and rotation procedures in accordance with established company standards.
  • Set up and maintain all produce displays, including wet case.
  • Promotes produce sales through effective merchandizing and cross-selling displays
  • Provides customers with suggestions and recommendations on different products.
  • Creates weekly staff schedules and ensure proper allocation of labour and compliance with the weekly limits of labour hours.
  • Participates in training and employee performance.
  • Ensures the prioritization and delegation of daily responsibilities throughout the department while training, coaching, and leading employees.
  • Unloads incoming shipment of produce items and discusses shipment items with vendors.
  • Closely monitors inventory levels.
  • Proactively works to create a safe, clean department and follow all health and sanitation guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned by management on needed basis
