Full job description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Grill & Sauté Cook with at least 3 years of professional kitchen experience to join our dynamic culinary team. This position is a part-time with potential for full time in the future. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, is passionate about food, and consistently delivers quality dishes according to our menu specifications. This role requires strong multitasking skills, adherence to health and safety standards, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all grill and sauté station preparations and dishes with accuracy and efficiency.
- Follow all menu specifications, recipes, and plating guidelines precisely.
- Cook proteins to exact temperatures and ensure consistent quality.
- Maintain proper station setup, including prep, stock rotation, and mise en place.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld at all times, including proper food handling, storage, and labeling.
- Clean and sanitize the grill and sauté stations before, during, and after each shift.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and communicate effectively with front-of-house when needed.
- Monitor and report low inventory or equipment issues to management.
- Stay calm and organized under pressure while meeting ticket times during busy service hours.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a professional restaurant kitchen, ideally in a steakhouse or high-volume grill setting.
- Solid understanding of grill temperatures, meat cuts, and cooking techniques for beef, poultry, and seafood.
- Proven ability to execute sauté station items, including pan sauces, vegetables, and starches.
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations and proper kitchen sanitation procedures (ServSafe certification preferred).
- Ability to follow recipes and plating standards with high attention to detail.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods).
- Team-oriented, dependable, and committed to high standards of quality and professionalism.
- Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
